The ever eclectic Texas Theatre has several screenings of particular note this week, we thinks. As in:
* Thursday night, Oak Cliffian Kirby Warnock will present his docu-trip back in Dallas time. His When Dallas Rocked looks at the local ’70s music scene. I mean, wow, read more about it right here and buy tickets here or at the door. Starts at 7:30.
* Delve deeper in the drilling/fracking debate Friday night at the theater. The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League and more than a few other groups are sponsoring a showing of Gasland Part II with a few words on the subject from the film’s director Josh Fox, City Council members Scott Griggs and Phillip Kingston plus a Q&A. That’s 7 until 10 p.m. or so.
* Sunday afternoon, see and sing-a-long if you will with the film Grease. It’s a fund-raiser for the Sunset High School Alumni Association, but any and all are welcome. Starts at 2 p.m. Buy tickets here or at the door.
As ever, it all happens at 231 W. Jefferson.
